App blocks
Put a Sledge widget exactly where you want it — a search bar in your header, reviews under the product description, filters beside your collection grid.
Want the search bar in your header, the review widget under the product description, the filter panel beside your collection grid? That's a block. You drag it exactly where you want it, and it stays there.
Unlike app embeds, which switch on store-wide, a block belongs to one section on one template.
Adding a block
Navigate to the page you want
In the theme editor, use the template dropdown at the top to switch to the template you're editing — Product, Collection, Search, and so on.
Pick the section
In the left sidebar, find the section where the widget should appear, and click Add block.
Choose the Sledge block
Sledge blocks are grouped under the app's name in the block picker.
Position and configure it
Drag the block to where you want it within the section, then set its options in the right-hand panel.
What's available
Blocks cover the widgets that occupy a position in your layout:

If a block renders nothing
A placed block still renders nothing unless the feature behind it is configured and enabled for the current surface. Work through this order:
- Is Sledge Core enabled on this theme?
- Is the feature configured in the Sledge dashboard?
- Is it enabled for this surface?
- Is the block on the template you're actually viewing?
Shopify's theme editor previews a template, not a specific product or collection. A block that looks empty in the editor may render correctly on a real storefront URL where there is data to show. Check the live storefront before moving things.
Blocks and theme updates
Blocks are stored in your theme's settings. Updating your theme through Shopify preserves them. Replacing your theme with a fresh copy does not — you will need to place them again.
