The Global Countdown is a slim countdown bar shown across your storefront — “Black Friday Sale! Sale ends in 16:39:22” — building urgency for a store-wide campaign. It runs everywhere Sledge is active, independent of any single product.
Before you start
Sledge Core must be enabled on your theme. Sledge Core is the app embed that loads Sledge on your storefront — without it, nothing you configure here reaches your customers. You enable it during onboarding (Enable in theme), or any time via Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds → Sledge Core. Which pages actually show this feature is controlled by its own Surfaces section, explained below.
Create or edit a global countdown
Go to Sledge → Tools → Promotion, open Global Countdown, and click Add (or open an existing one — the example is the store’s “Demo store” countdown).
Name, content & behavior

- Countdown name — internal only, for your dashboard.
- Title / Subtitle — the text customers see on the bar (“Black Friday Sale!” / “Sale ends in:”). The timer renders after the subtitle.
- Call to action — what clicking does: Make entire bar clickable (with a Link destination), a separate button, or no action at all.
- Close icon — tick to let customers dismiss the bar.
Country and Active dates

Country limits who sees the bar; Active dates starts it right now or on a schedule.
Countdown timer

The heart of the feature — Timer type:
- Countdown to date — everyone counts down to one fixed end date, e.g. the real end of your sale.
- Fixed minutes — each visitor gets their own timer of N minutes from when they arrive (the example runs 1000 minutes). Classic urgency mechanic.
- Daily recurring timer — restarts every day, e.g. “order before midnight”.
Surfaces

One switch — Global — because this bar renders store-wide at the top of the page.
Design

Typography (size, weight, transform) for title and subtitle, and colours for every part of the bar: title, subtitle, the countdown numbers, the number cards, card background and border.
Status and Preview

Status makes it live; the Preview shows the bar exactly as the library renders it, timer ticking. Create A/B starts an A/B test. Click Save to apply.
Result
Customers see the countdown bar pinned across the top of your storefront until the timer runs out (with Fixed minutes, each visitor’s timer is their own — so it eventually disappears for returning visitors whose timer has expired).
Not showing up? Give the change a minute to sync, then reload the page. Also confirm the campaign’s Status is Enable, the surface you expect is switched on in Surfaces, and Sledge Core is enabled as described above.
